Mondays are in motion at Meals on Wheels • Feeding Friends! 💙
Meals packed, coolers loaded, routes ready, and our volunteers have headed out to make sure our homebound neighbors start the week with a fresh meal and a friendly face at the door.
Just another Monday around here, but every delivery makes a difference. 🥰

We have loved having Penny help us every week this summer! 💙 Not only did she choose to come week after week with her dad, but she even spent part of her birthday volunteering with us! 🎉
Even though Penny would happily come help all the time, school comes first! That just makes it even more of a treat when we get to have her back during holidays and school breaks. 😊
One of our favorite parts of this summer has been seeing so many families volunteering together. We are incredibly grateful for the parents, kids, grandparents, and everyone in between who choose to spend their time helping our homebound neighbors. We love having you as part of our Meals on Wheels Feeding Friends community! 💙

Two years ago, as a storm approached the Lowcountry, our incredible volunteers made sure our homebound neighbors had meals before hunkering down themselves. 💙
With hurricane season upon us once again, we're prepared. We keep emergency meals stocked in our freezers so our recipients have meals ready if severe weather is on the way, giving them one less thing to worry about.
We're so grateful for the volunteers, donors, and community who make this possible. Because of you, we're able to be there for our neighbors when they need us most. 🌧️

One of the things that makes Meals on Wheels • Feeding Friends so special is that many of the people we serve choose to give back when they’re able.
After recovering from surgery with the help of our meals, Rick & Carole sent us a generous donation along with a heartfelt thank you. Their kindness is a beautiful reminder of what this community is all about.
Every meal we deliver is provided at no cost to the recipient. There are no age or income requirements, only a need. Whether someone needs us for a few days, a few weeks, or a few months, we’re here to help because of the incredible support of our community.
As a community-funded nonprofit, every donation helps ensure that the next person who needs a helping hand can receive one too. Thank you to everyone who makes this mission possible. 💙

Eleven years later, our Feeding Friends program is still helping people recover from surgery, transplants, childbirth, injuries, and other health challenges, and it has grown tremendously!
We hope to continue growing so we can help even more people in our community. Whether you need us for a few days, a few weeks, or a few months, we're here to provide nourishing meals while you focus on what matters most: healing. ❤️

Due to the current concerns surrounding lettuce, we’re temporarily swapping out our weekly Caesar salads for fresh chicken salad sandwiches. 🥪
We promise this delicious option is just as amazing, and we’re so grateful to our friends at Verde for working with us to make sure our homebound neighbors continue receiving fresh, high-quality meals each week.
Thank you, Verde, for always being such a wonderful partner and helping us adapt while still serving something our recipients are sure to enjoy! 💚

Happy Volunteer of the Quarter to Kathy Wisiackas! 🎉💙
Kathy, thank you for everything you do for us at Meals on Wheels • Feeding Friends, and especially for our homebound neighbors.
Kathy doesn’t just deliver meals; she delivers kindness, compassion, and genuine connection. Driving more than once a week, she has built lasting relationships with so many of our recipients, showing up for them in ways most people wouldn’t even think of. Whether it’s remembering every birthday, making sure they have a special gift at Christmas, or visiting store after store to help a recipient find the perfect pair of shoes, Kathy is always looking for ways to brighten someone’s day.
She reminds us that Meals on Wheels is about so much more than a meal. It’s about making our neighbors feel seen, valued, and cared for.
Kathy, thank you for your generous heart and for always going above and beyond. Your kindness makes a difference every single day, and we truly couldn’t imagine Meals on Wheels without you. Congratulations on being our Volunteer of the Quarter! ❤️

We have had a few extra (little) hands helping keep the meal line moving this week! 💙
We’re definitely not ready for summer to be over and for these awesome helpers to head back to school, so we’re soaking up every minute while they’re here.
And... is it just us, or does anyone else think she looks like she’s playing a game of Tetris with those meal containers? 😂

Five years ago, we shared this moment with George and Judi, and it still reminds us what makes Meals on Wheels so special: Our volunteers.
While George is no longer with us, his kindness and dedication continue to inspire us. We are so grateful that Judi has continued to carry on their route, showing up week after week to care for our homebound neighbors with the same compassion they always shared together.
Volunteers like Judi and George are the heart of our mission. Every meal delivered, every smile shared, and every knock on a door reminds our neighbors that they are not forgotten.
To Judi, and to every volunteer who chooses to show up, rain or shine, thank you. Your kindness changes lives in ways you may never fully realize, and we are beyond grateful for each and every one of you. 💙
