We are very excited to recognize Cindy Reed as our Volunteer of the Fourth Quarter for 2021. Cindy has been a busy gal with our organization. Cindy assists us in the office several hours every Monday by answering our phones and helping with projects. Additionally, Cindy drives every Thursday as well as a nutritional drink route every month! Cindy also assists us with our substitute driving needs. It is so often that we get to see her bubbly self every single week, multiple times! What is most fun is when Cindy brings along her granddaughter!
Cindy shared she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Maryland for several years and just loved seeing how appreciative the recipients were every time she delivered a meal to them. So, when she settled in Mount Pleasant three years ago, one of the first things she did was search for Meals on Wheels. Cindy applied to become a volunteer because she knew it would be a rewarding opportunity. Per Cindy, the recipients here are so loving and welcoming every time she delivers to them. It fills her heart every week. Cindy looks forward to delivering to them as much as they look forward to receiving the visits. Cindy says to be able to provide nutritious meals at no cost to those in need is truly a blessing and so important. To the end, Cindy shares that she is very grateful and proud to be a part of this organization. She says that East Cooper Meals on Wheels does it best!
