This month we’re celebrating “March for Meals,” an opportunity for us to share our story with friends both old and new. Even though we’ve been serving our community since 1985, many people are still unfamiliar with Meals on Wheels and how we’re uniquely equipped to provide a meal, and so much more, to the homebound of all ages and incomes East of the Cooper.
Meals on Wheels programs have come together each March since 2002 to celebrate this proven collaboration of local community organizations, businesses, all levels of government and compassionate individuals to ensure that our homebound neighbors are not forgotten. By volunteering, donating or speaking out, you can ensure the homebound people in your neighborhood can live more healthy, happy, and independent lives at home, where they want to be.
We’d love for YOU to get to know us even better and meet some of the wonderful people impacted by your support. During “March for Meals,” we have a special opportunity for you to be a “Community Champion” for a day and ride along with one of our volunteers as they deliver meals. If you have a few hours to spare (deliveries are made Monday-Friday from approximately 9:30-11:30 a.m.), we’d love for you to see our mission in action. If you’re interested please call (843) 881-9350. Space is limited.
